I was talking with a sweet mama the other day. And she was sharing that it’s hard to make friends here. That she feels lonely. That she wants a crew like she used to have.

Honestly, so do I. My young twenties were an amazing time of friendship. Fantastic, wonderful, stellar people filled my life. We spent hours talking about God, dreaming, taking road trips, mission trips, adventuring.

And then I met my husband, and we got married and we adventured together to Montreal. And we church planted and had babies.

And moved again to South Carolina. And the babies grew and we kept church planting and began homeschooling.

And moved again back to the beginning, back to New Mexico where we kept homeschooling and the kids kept growing and my husband was now pastoring.

We have met tremendous people along the way. People we love and cherish and can’t imagine life without. But it seems like there aren’t as many of them. And they are all spread out over the globe, pulling our hearts with them.

And they are spread out in their lives. Serving their families. Serving as missionaries. Serving churches and businesses and cities.

And they don’t have as much time. Neither do we.

“Be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20b

We text and call and meet up when we can, but years can go between meetings. My phone can go weeks without messages from friends.

Life can get lonely. Empty.

But Jesus.

He is with us always.

He. Is. With. Us.

God with us.

Our lives build, grow, end. He is with us.

Seasons come, cover, fade. He is with us.

Our kids are born, grow, leave. He is with us.

Our friends are here, or far, or gone. He is with us.

Praying you have joy in knowing Jesus is with you, always. ♥

Spread the love
