Summer. That time of year when we play and rest and enjoy the outdoors like no other. And that time of year when our nerves begin to fray a bit.
Our kids are ever present and ever dirty. Weeds begin filling our once new garden beds. There is always mud and a damp swimsuit somewhere.
It’s a time of year to enjoy despite the crazy. And it’s good to back up and consider the fruit of the spirit. It’s time to remind myself and my kids what God expects and what He gives to help us meet those expectations.
Years ago I taught my kids about the fruit of the spirit with a song. We talked about each fruit and what it was. And now that they are much older, we are reading through the bible together, and learning how the fruit of the spirit looks in real life.
“The Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” Galatians 5:22-23
All of it lovely. All of it working together. All of it needed.
And none of it against the law.
Praying you and your family can fill up on fruit of the spirit this summer ♥
