Sometimes life is good. Sometimes things fall into place. Sometimes your life really looks like your Instagram feed.

But more of life isn’t like that at all. There were years of our lives where we barely slept because our little son had food allergies and eczema and was miserable at night.

There were years of our lives where date night was not a thing, because we could barely pay our monthly bills, much less hire a babysitter and then spend gas and food money on a date.

There were years of our lives where we barely saw my husband because he worked two full-time jobs. We would go weeks and only see each other awake for 30 minutes a day.

And so much more.

We can all fill in those blanks.

When life is hard, people ask how we are and our usual answer is “I’m fine.”

But maybe we aren’t fine.

Maybe our lives are messy.

But bigger than all of that crazy mess is God and He is always good. And when life is hard and terrible and terrifying, we look at Him and remember that His compassions don’t fail. That His mercies are new every morning. That He is enough even when we have nothing and less than nothing left.

“Listen to the LORD who created you. O Israel, the one who formed you says:
‘Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine.

When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.

For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.'” Isaiah 43:1-3

We are praying that you will feel God’s comfort, His strength and His love no matter where life has you today ♥

Spread the love
