There’s something I always see in my kids. A desire to be strong. Brave. Bold. A defender of the weak. And I love it. Because I see it in me.
I want to be brave. Heroic. Someone who takes a stand. And someone who stands out.
I want to accomplish great things. Amaze myself. My family. The world perhaps.
I’m learning something as the years pass. That perhaps the greatest bravery is in being ordinary and in being faithful in ordinary things.
Faithful when my path is flat and dull and boring.
Faithful when my tasks are hard and monotonous and jarring.
Faithful when those around me are failing and flailing and falling short.
That thing that is full of mercy. Grace. Longsuffering.
That thing that builds endurance.
And in the end—the long-term end that comes to us all—results in more than I can imagine.
“Use your worldly resources to benefit others and make friends. Then, when your earthly possessions are gone, they will welcome you to an eternal home.
If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.” Luke 16:9-10
Praying that your week is filled with courageous, beautiful faithfulness to everything God gives ♥
