So, we’ve done it. We’ve finished summer and now we’re launching ourselves into autumn. Pumpkin spice everything is in the air. School backpacks and shoes are looking pretty nice. Meeting old friends and striking up new relationships is lovely.

And we’re still full of hope. The crayons aren’t broken. The binders are still looking tidy and pretty. The attitudes aren’t too terrible.

We’re on our way.

So, how do we maintain this? How do we stay steady, joyful…hopeful?

Consider this. We are not just called, we are equipped. We are not flying solo through each season of our lives, muddling along, trying to do our best, to figure things out.

There’s more to all this than managing schedules, keeping bellies full, clothes cleaned, shuttling ourselves and our families to this and that.

We have a kingdom calling and that is what we are equipped for. To raise up beautiful, strong, godly people in our homes. To be salt and light at home, at work, at the store, at the gym.

We are to be people who dwell in hope.

And we can do that. Even on the nasty days. Even in the hard seasons. Even when we really, really, really don’t want this life anymore.

“I will bless the LORD who guides me;
even at night my heart instructs me.

I know the LORD is always with me.
I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me.

No wonder my heart is glad, and I rejoice.
My body rests in safety.

For you will not leave my soul among the dead
or allow your holy one to rot in the grave.

You will show me the way of life,
granting me the joy of your presence
and the pleasures of living with you forever.”

Psalm 16:7-11

Praying that you are filled with and focused on the hope that is ahead for you ♥

Spread the love
